Michael has already had one career as a chartered surveyor. Now he wants a second: as a writer. He has won poetry prizes (including the Eastbourne Writes Festival) and short story prizes (including the Chelmsford Literary Festival). In 2012 he published his first short story collection, The Fish On My Ear, and his first contribution to Words, Pauses, Noises, ‘Window Gazing’, is taken from that collection.
