Alex was born in the Netherlands and subsequently grew up in Oman and Scotland before finishing school in Surrey and The Hague. After graduating from Leeds University with a BA in Environment and Business studies, he did conservation work with dolphins and turtles in Brazil. Having then worked for The Royal College of Pathologists for nearly five years, he tutored secondary school children in English and Maths in Perth, Australia. He is currently studying a Masters in Creative Writing at Kingston whereupon he aims to finish his novel dealing with themes of religion, loneliness and identity. He writes imagist poetry as well short fiction.
